Back to my roots

Some of you may remember that as a sideline to being a bartender, I have a secret double life as a historian, of the early modern sort. Well, we're going to let the historian out to play, because I've been invited to host the next early modern
Carnivalesque. Whee! (You might also want to go visit some of the
most recent editions for all kinds of great stuff.)
Carnivalesque the Twelfth will open in the bar on Saturday, February 4. If you've read or written anything on the early modern period (roughly 1400-1800) that you'd like to share or call our attention to, please send it my way! You can e-mail me at valdemoro at sbcglobal dot net, or use the handy Blog Carnival
submission form. Carnivalesque loves the multidisciplinary, so I'm looking for submissions relating to history, literary studies, art, archaeology, philosophy, political theory, or anything else you can link to the early modern period.
Boy, now I feel like I should spiff the place up a bit. Regulars, what shall we do, hang some welcome banners and get the bonfire going? (Bastard, you might need to keep Josephus in the back room for that weekend; he's entirely the wrong period.)
